In Plant City, garden centers are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have more time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in Florida, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.
Hours are published for 5 days a week. The most common schedule is 7:30 am–5 pm. Note that it does not open on Saturday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. Very nice people. When we couldn't find a Gardenia at our local big box stores, I found Harrell's online, called and they had the plant pulled when I arrived. Fairly priced and plant was in excellent condition.

No matter what you do to fulfill the requirements of the nursery office staff you will still get there and wait a minimum of 20 to 30 minutes. The office staff will not inform you that it's better to place an order, Rather than showing up to pick out plants. As a new customer they will not ride you around they will not inform you of their plant selection they will not inform you of their ordering process you will be on your own left to figure it all out and when you can't figure it out and everybody is angry at you because you're having a heck of a time trying to get 2 plants that's when you figure it out that you're at the wrong place Make sure you get there mid morning when the entire nursery goes on break and is not available to help you get plants. What's more when they do return from their mid morning break they act As if they are doing you a favor. One of the Hispanic ladies would not even wait on me because I had too many questions about the plant. Better to find another wholesale nursery where you can be served as a new customer you can get the price list as promised since you are a new customer and hopefully someone in the office will tell you what their procedure is as
